Genius Brands is launching its second children’s channel on the on-demand platform, following the Kid Genius Cartoon Channel.
Genius Brands International is launching its second children’s content channel, Baby Genius, on Comcast’s Xfinity on Demand. The channel joins the Kids Genius Cartoon Channel on the on demand platform, reaching millions of homes in the US.
Some of the content that will now be available through Baby Genius includes The Adventures of Paddington Bear, Rainbow Valley Fire Department, Baby Prodigy, Igloo-Gloo, Pirates Adventures in Art, So! Smart and Todd World. Those programs join Baby Genius Nursery Rhymes and Baby Genius Animals which were made available to Xfinity TV customers in 2014.
Ten series will be added to the platform initially, which can be accessed by customers in the home and on the go via the Xfinity Stream app and portal or using the X1 voice remote. The channels are available free of charge on top of the US$4.99 per month that subscribers pay for Xfinity on demand.
Comcast also picked up Kidstream this year with more than 100 hours of series from Canada’s Breakthrough Entertainment and France’s Millimages and awol animation, providing at least 22 series with more to come.
Genius Brands has been expanding its kids channels on streaming platforms this year, also putting Kid Genius on Amazon Channels, as the first all-ages children’s service to launch on Amazon’s low-cost third-party platform.
