Edison toon lights up new deal

An educational broadcaster operating in Russia, CEE, Turkey and Africa has acquired Genius Brands International’s (GBI) animated series about light bulb inventor Thomas Edison.
Da Vinci Learning has picked up Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab, which follows a 12-year-old prodigy and her young science club after they discover Thomas Edison’s secret lab, equipped with a holographic version of the famous inventor.
GBI’s board of directors includes the company’s CEO Andy Heyward, president Amy Moynihan Heyward and Margaret Loesch, the former president and CEO of US kids’ network The Hub.
“Arousing the curiosity of our viewers is our mission at Da Vinci Learning and GBI’s programming is an ideal solution and perfect fit for the channel,” said Ferdinand Habsburg, MD of Berlin-based Da Vinci Media GmbH.
